A type of loudspeaker enclosure named for its characteristic shape, with the speaker itself mounted in the narrow end of its tapered interior surface. Because the sound waves emanating from the speaker itself are internally enlarged before they exit from the larger end of the tapered surface, horn enclosures are highly efficient. Also, any horn-shaped device placed in front of a speaker to disperse sound.
